So in an attempt to put off the dreads and fears of tomorrow, I took a ttrip to my newly becoming favourite music shop today.
I did some good byes and some welcomes....
Goodbye to my beautiful Strat...
and welcome and hello to a new ukulele....
Now I know I have one or two of these amazing instruments within the Perox towers but this one is a little different.
It is a six string tenor Ukulele with a really nice pickup inside it so that I can be louder....as....I have been asked....to join a friend of mines band! Playing uke as well as singing a bit. A great learning experience for me.
The Ashbury was a reasonable cost for the instrument it was. You can see the BIG picture here...and find out more about bizarre string arrangements as well!
So to give it a run out I did this....
Which is not perfect, as the first comment reasonably stated, but a good time as usual. And it cheered me up!
The 6 string tenor is mainly a strumming, accompanying instrument not a finger picking one, which is what i found out at the start of the recording! Not to mention the bulbous veins and going blue in the face!!
So have a look, listen and do take a smile.

When's the next gig?
I dig the song, though. very cool. :)
I played soprano (dodgy one as well) for ages - they're all good!
As for the song - you're generous, but thank you!
You know that thing I said about the guitar earlier? I can't stop playing the thing, LOL! My fingers are killing me and my husband can't stop laughing, the cheeky bugger. You'll laugh at this, but since I've been going to the guitar meets at the hospital (long story, involves a vicar) I've been practising like mad. I've found a way of learning that finally suits me, and it's working really well (although there's no danger of me posting anyting on youtube yet, ha ha).
I'm playing mostly on the acoustic at the mo, but I switch to the electric now and again cos it's easier on the old digits. Happy days.
I always found that learning on the acoustic makes playing the electric much easier (narrower neck and all).
As for the fingers, well they will take some getting used to the strings and mostly all my adult pupils moan at first! But they will getused to it.
My fingers are calloused to hell but still manage to ache after heavy teaching/ playing weeks!
Glad you're enjoying it, and as for youtube..its OBLIGATORY!!
